- Monitor and maintain facility environmental and safety compliance with CAA, CWA, RCRA, OSHA, EPCRA, TSCA, DOT, and other regulatory programs
- Ensure federal, state, and local environmental permit and safety compliance, including written programs, monitoring logs, recordkeeping, and regulatory submissions
- Represent the company with EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory agency representatives regarding plant activities
- Provide EHS leadership, support, and direction across multiple sites
- Establish consistent EHS practices and procedures across assigned manufacturing facilities
- Develop location-specific programs and procedures with plant management
- Collaborate on process and facility improvements and facilitate corrective and preventive actions
- Drive EHS initiatives and compliance with employees, consultants, legal counsel, subcontractors, vendors, and other contacts
- Identify, evaluate, and track accident and injury trends and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure timely and effective EHS training and education, including new hire orientation, toolbox training, and regulatory training
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related listed field
- 7+ years of experience in EHS, including at least 5 years in a manufacturing, corporate, or consulting setting
- Experience with environmental permitting, air pollution control, wastewater treatment, hazardous waste, stormwater, SPCC, machine guarding, and LOTO
- Standard EHS competencies
- Ability to identify and interpret relevant regulations for facility personnel
- Strong leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, especially with regulatory agencies
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- CHMM, PE, ASP, CSP, and/or CIH certification preferred
