Job summary

Performance Food Group in Oneonta, NY seeks a Transportation Supervisor to oversee drivers at the Oneonta and Binghamton Domicile Yard, ensuring safe, timely deliveries and DOT compliance.

You will train staff, monitor logs, manage paperwork, and coordinate routes to minimize costs, while reporting to the Springfield Mass operating company.

Qualifications include a Class A CDL, 2–4 years in transportation, and supervisory experience; experience with fleet management systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years transportation or related experience including knowledge of DOT and safety regulations, along with experience in operation of computerized fleet management systems
• Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) certified.

Responsibilities

• Supervises associates to include staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution; assists in scheduling and ensures deliveries/pickups are timely.
• Assists Transportation/Operations Manager with day-to-day administration of transportation and delivery functions; reviews driver logs and expense reports; operates fleet management system.
• Ensures drivers fulfill duties safely by monitoring vehicle safety, ramp usage, seat belt use, and safe lifting.
• Coordinates tracking of license status, tickets, accidents and risk/safety data.
• Ensures completion of delivery and driver paperwork (invoices, DVIR, logs, etc.).
• Maintains trucks, tractors and trailers through post-trip inspections.
• Works with manager to minimize operating expenses and optimize routes.
• Attends meetings and reports to Springfield Mass operating company.
• Performs other related duties, including covering routes when needed.
