Job summary

IDEA in Los Angeles seeks a Development Coordinator to build donor and community relationships, organize fundraising activities, and represent the organization at events. You will manage an assigned portfolio, coordinate with regional staff, and report to the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.

The role requires travel, strong communication skills, and the ability to work evenings/weekends during campaigns as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Experience with grassroots organizations or community engagement.
• Familiarity with the local Muslim community and leaders.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 60%, with potential international trips.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace; Salesforce/ClickUp experience preferred.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends for events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive donor and community relationships.
• Strengthen existing masajid and community ties and build new ones.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at events.
• Plan and support regional fundraising activities with staff and volunteers.
• Respond to inquiries about campaigns, programs, and engagement opportunities.
• Deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
• Prepare reports and plans for the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
• Research local communities and opportunities to support strategies.
• Pursue ongoing training and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
