Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior leader to provide strategic direction and operational oversight for Surgical Services across multiple facilities in Utah. The role leads site directors, partners with enterprise leadership, and drives patient care initiatives with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance.

The executive will manage budgets, staffing models, and capital equipment, while advancing professional development and physician engagement. Travel to covered sites is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; degree will be verified
  • Master’s degree in a clinical or business field from an accredited institution; degree verification required
  • Excellent understanding of surgical services-related policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience balancing clinical, regulatory, and financial goals and outcomes
  • Experience collaborating with individuals at all levels within the organization
  • Commitment to developing others and serving as a mentor and role model
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed across assigned Surgical Services areas

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for Surgical Services departments across multiple designated facilities
  • Provide fiscal stewardship, regulatory compliance, policy and practice implementation, professional development, patient safety, quality standards, and overall leadership
  • Directly lead site directors or managers across assigned facilities
  • Collaborate with enterprise, regional, and local leaders to develop, oversee, coordinate, and evaluate patient care within Surgical Services
  • Partner with nursing, clinical programs, service lines, and other disciplines on Surgical Services initiatives and strategic projects
  • Report directly to the Vice President of Surgical Services
  • Support the Canyons South geography and adjust coverage as needed
  • Oversee daily operations, huddles, and services across designated facilities
  • Perform regular rounding and frequent rotational onsite visits at different surgical services locations
  • Implement enterprise safety processes, quality measures, improvements, and accreditations
  • Support efficient workflows, facility budgets, capital equipment purchases, labor costs, and staffing models
  • Optimize value in surgical care delivery and ensure compliance with supply chain contracts
  • Support new product and product deviation requests through value analysis team processes
  • Plan and implement surgical services strategies, key process indicators, and growth goals
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives and engage stakeholders, leaders, providers, and caregivers
  • Support physician recruitment and foster physician engagement
  • Coach and mentor directors and managers to create a positive work environment
  • Develop and support practice councils and professional development within Surgical Services
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory bodies, including The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, and DOPL

  • Ability to drive when required for the role

  • Preferred: experience as a leader of leaders within the healthcare industry
