- Provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the Internal Process Control team within Surgical Services
- Ensure consistent implementation of surgical and procedural care processes for scheduling, billing, revenue capture, data and analytics, tissue and regulated tracking, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and communicate instances where policy does not align with practice and ensure corrective action plans are developed and implemented
- Identify best practices and ensure communication and adoption across Operating Room, Same-Day Surgery/Post-Recovery, PACU, Sterile Processing, Anesthesia, and Endoscopy departments
- Coordinate and implement KPI, quality, and patient safety initiatives
- Collaborate across teams to achieve annual goals and performance targets
- Establish system-wide quality and safety strategies with executive leadership
- Oversee scheduling, billing, and operational support functions for standardized processes and operational efficiency
- Partner with Revenue Integrity and operational leaders to optimize revenue capture, charge integrity, supply utilization, and financial performance
- Develop and lead a compliance program covering federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements
- Lead strategic priorities, organizational goals, and transformational initiatives for Surgical Services
- Establish governance structures and implement evidence-based best practices, standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Partner with education, quality, and operational teams to implement and sustain policy, practice, and operational changes
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to assigned team members
- Report directly to the AVP of Surgical Services
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical discipline from an accredited institution; degree verification required
- Five (5) years’ experience in a Surgical Services area
- Demonstrated understanding of surgical and procedural related policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements, including tissue and implant management and related regulations
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading teams, initiatives, or organizational change efforts
- Experience driving clinical, operational, regulatory, and financial outcomes through collaboration with leaders, physicians, caregivers, and stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization
- Preferably based within Intermountain market areas: Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, or Colorado; Utah preferably in the Salt Lake area
- Ongoing ability to see and read information, documents, monitors, equipment, and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Frequent computer use for typing and accessing information
- Ability to meet clinical or patient-care physical requirements when rounding or auditing in clinical environments
- For roles requiring driving, ability to drive a vehicle and observe signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
