Job description

Regional Director — Spring Education Group

Location: Sacramento, California

Position Summary

Lead a region of K–12 schools and help shape their academic quality, enrollment growth, and operational success. As Regional Director for Spring Education Group (SEG) in the Sacramento area, you will coach school leaders, strengthen relationships with families, and guide financial performance while supporting the delivery of approved curriculum and educational programs.

Your oversight will include school operations and ancillary, summer, and before- and after-school programs. Working closely with operations, enrollment, marketing, and education partners, you will ensure schools meet performance goals for enrollment, student retention, compliance, financial results, and customer satisfaction while serving the needs of students, parents, management, and shareholders.

Key Responsibilities
School Leadership and Team Development
  • Partner with the VP of School Operations and VP of Enrollment to establish a regional vision aligned with SEG’s mission and set annual and strategic objectives.

  • Partner with the VP of School Operations to ensure each school has an outstanding Head of School or Principal. Recruit, orient, coach, and develop school leaders in accordance with Spring Leadership Principles.

  • Recruit qualified staff for current and future needs and supervise exempt and non-exempt employees.

  • Retain high-quality staff through clear expectations, recognition, ongoing feedback, documentation, development discussions, and annual performance reviews.

  • Delegate assignments and provide opportunities for career growth. Build effective teams, strengthen staff rapport and morale, and maintain productive relationships with peers and central office staff.

  • Ensure staff follow SEG policies and procedures and state and local requirements, and that front office and parent-facing employees are trained on and deliver SEG hospitality standards.

Academic Quality and Student Outcomes
  • Oversee academic quality assurance, working with school leaders to maintain teaching standards and accountability for SEG curriculum guidelines.

  • Partner with the Education Department to drive continued positive academic outcomes.

  • Pursue and maintain regional and national academic accreditation and support school and student participation in academic competitions.

Financial and Operational Performance
  • Manage the region’s profit and loss (P&L) to meet or exceed financial and enrollment targets.

  • Keep schools within budget, manage receivables and bad debt, and align expenses with revenue.

  • Use Salesforce, NetSuite, and Domo to maintain accurate financial and business records and submit timely weekly reports.

  • Incorporate improvement feedback to support profitable educational excellence across schools, individuals, and SEG.

  • Ensure schools comply with state and federal requirements.

  • Visit each school in the region at least once per quarter.

Enrollment Growth and Marketing
  • Partner with the VP of Enrollment and VP of School Operations to develop annual enrollment plans, including re-enrollment beginning on the first day of school, new student enrollment, and the Enrollment Machine.

  • Maintain close collaboration between school operations and the enrollment team. With the VP of Enrollment, hold school operations teams accountable to SEG Enrollment Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Partner with the IK12 Director of Brand Marketing to develop marketing programs that generate new student enrollment, promote re-enrollment, and build Merryhill brand awareness in the Sacramento market.

  • Ensure schools respond to inquiries according to SEG sales programs and keep regional school websites accurate and current.

Family and Community Relationships
  • Maintain positive relationships with current and prospective parents and local community stakeholders.

  • Use community demographics and local opportunities to guide marketing and establish a positive SEG presence.

  • Review and implement recommendations from annual parent and family surveys.

  • Remain accessible and responsive to parents, students, and staff.

Professional Development
  • Pursue professional development through coursework, workshops, and conferences.

  • Attend the annual SEG IK12 Summer Summit, annual Region Conferences, and required local or regional training sessions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business management or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of successful multi-site management in education or a related environment, with a background or experience in K–12 education.

  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and hiring in multi-site or educational environments and in coaching and developing staff.

  • Proven marketing and sales success.

  • Financial acumen demonstrated by generating profits in a comparable position.

  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including clear, concise presentation of ideas and effective conflict resolution with staff and school constituents.

  • Proficiency with technology systems used to communicate with families, staff, and the corporate office.

  • Proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading English.

Work Schedule and Travel
  • This is a 12-month, year-round position with a minimum 50-hour workweek and regular overtime, frequently including school activities at night and on weekends.

  • Travel to work sites is required more than 75% of the time, with the ability to travel by air, rail, or motor vehicle for training and site visits.
