Job summary

IDEA (Islamic Development & Empowerment in America) invites a part-time Development Coordinator to build relationships with masjid, business, donor, and community partners in the Fresno/Bakersfield region. You will support fundraising campaigns, coordinate events, and represent IDEA across the area.

The role requires travel up to 60% within the designated area, strong communication, fundraising experience, and ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Fundraising experience with grassroots communities.
• Familiarity with local Muslim communities is helpful.
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Comfort with travel and events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, community institutions, volunteers, and the general public throughout the assigned area.
• Strengthen relationships with existing masajid and identify new opportunities.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at community events and program engagements.
• Plan, organize, host, and support regional fundraising activities and events.
• Respond to donor and community inquiries with accurate information about IDEA’s campaigns.
• Schedule and deliver presentations to audiences of diverse backgrounds.
• Research local communities, prospects, and opportunities to support regional fundraising and development strategies.
• Continue to strengthen job-related knowledge through required training, workshops, readings, and professional-development opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
