Job summary

IDEA in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Development Coordinator to build relationships with donors, masjid communities, and businesses to advance Islamic Development & Empowerment in America. This part-time role reports to the Regional Manager and supports regional fundraising campaigns and events.

The position requires travel up to 60% within the area, evenings and weekends for events, and a commitment to IDEA’s values. A Bachelor’s degree and fundraising experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, required.
• Experience with grassroots or community engagement.
• Familiarity with local Muslim community and leaders.
• Strong organizational, project- and time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong written communication and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, community institutions, volunteers, and the public.
• Strengthen relationships with existing masajid and identify new community opportunities.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at events and programs.
• Plan and support regional fundraising activities and events with the Regional Manager and volunteers.
• Respond to donor inquiries with information about IDEA’s campaigns and opportunities.
• Present to diverse audiences and deliver presentations.
• Prepare plans, projections, and reports for the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
• Research local communities and opportunities to support fundraising strategies.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
