Job summary

Alfred Williams & Company, a leading MillerKnoll dealer, seeks a Regional Designer to join its furniture planning team. You will input layouts in AutoCAD via CAP/CET, develop color/material presentations, and coordinate with vendors to assemble client proposals.

Field verification and installation drawings are part of the role. The ideal candidate has a minimum five years in commercial furniture design, strong CET Designer skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a four-year program or equivalent; interior design degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of practical experience in commercial furniture design and planning.
  • Proficiency in CET Designer is required.
  • MillerKnoll product knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Responsibilities

  • Input furniture layouts and space plans into AutoCAD via CAP and CET.
  • Develop color and material presentations, both electronic and physical.
  • Prepare client proposals by pricing and discounting commercial furniture.
  • Coordinate with vendors on pricing, discounts, and product specs.
  • Set up and maintain project files per design standards; field verify site conditions.
  • Create installation drawings and ensure 100% accuracy of drawings and specs.
  • Assist to define project scope and client programming sessions.
  • Participate actively in client interactions and design discussions.

To further build and develop our furniture planning team, Alfred Williams & Company is looking for a Regional Designer. Responsibilities and skillset requirements include:

Personal and Interpersonal Skills
  • Self-starter who is highly motivated, flexible, and able to multi-task
  • Works well in a cross-functional team environment, exhibiting exceptional communication skills
  • Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
Responsibilities and Technical Skills
  • Skilled and efficient input of furniture layouts and space plans into AutoCAD via CAP and CET
  • Experience with pricing and discounting commercial furniture to produce client proposals
  • Development of color and material presentations, both electronic and physical
  • Communicate with vendors to determine pricing, discounts, etc.
  • Set up and maintain project files per design and company standards
  • Field verification and measurement of site conditions
  • Experience in space planning, typical development, and systems furniture layout
  • Compile detailed inventory of existing product (stored or on-site) & record information with minimal assistance
  • Development of installation drawings
  • Basic understanding of Building Codes, ADA requirements, and Electrical/Data requirements applied to a project
  • Check all drawings and specifications for 100% accuracy
  • Assist to define the scope of a project, assess customer needs and program design applications
  • Active and thoughtful participation in client interactions and programming sessions
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a four-year program or equivalent work experience with a two-year degree with a bachelor's/associate degree in interior design, preferred.
  • A minimum five-year practical experience in commercial furniture design and planning.
  • Proficiency in CET Designer is required.
  • MillerKnoll product knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
