Job summary

Alfred Williams & Company, a leading MillerKnoll dealer, seeks an experienced Designer to join its furniture planning team in Greenville, SC. You will input layouts, develop presentations, and coordinate with vendors to create compelling workplace solutions.

The role requires a minimum five years in commercial furniture design, CET Designer proficiency, and strong communication in a cross-functional setting. MS Office and Adobe tools are used daily, and MillerKnoll product knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a four-year program or equivalent work experience with a two-year degree with a bachelor's/associate degree in interior design, preferred.
  • Minimum five-year practical experience in commercial furniture design and planning.
  • Proficiency in CET Designer is required.
  • MillerKnoll product knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional

Responsibilities

  • Input furniture layouts and space plans into AutoCAD via CAP and CET with accuracy.
  • Assist in pricing and discounting commercial furniture for client proposals.
  • Develop color and material presentations, both electronic and physical.
  • Communicate with vendors to determine pricing and discounts.
  • Set up and maintain project files per design and company standards.
  • Field verification and measurement of site conditions.
  • Experience in space planning, typical development, and systems furniture layout.
  • Compile detailed inventory of existing product and record information.
  • Develop installation drawings.
  • Understand Building Codes, ADA requirements, and Electrical/Data requirements for projects.
  • Check all drawings and specifications for 100% accuracy.
  • Assist to define project scope, assess customer needs and design programs.
  • Participate in client interactions and programming sessions

Responsibilities and Technical Skills
  • Skilled and efficient input of furniture layouts and space plans into AutoCAD via CAP and CET
