Job summary

Region 4 Education Service Center is seeking a Regional Coordinator for the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD) in Houston, TX. The role emphasizes professional development, coaching, and leadership across RDSPD staff and member districts to advance deaf education services.

Responsibilities include developing resources, implementing evidence-based practices, and coordinating program activities while collaborating with districts, charter schools, and state level functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Texas Educator Certificate in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education: EC-12.
• Texas Educator Certificate, Elementary or Secondary Generalist or Secondary Content Area.
• 3 years of district/campus leadership in deaf/hard of hearing education.
• 5 years working with deaf/hard of hearing and/or DeafBlind students.
• Experience leading collaborative teams.
• Experience developing resources to support assessment professionals and teachers.
• Experience coaching school staff in deaf education.
• Experience developing and presenting professional development for adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional development and mentoring for RDSPD staff on multiple topics.
• Support communication modes including various methods used by deaf students.
• Assist in planning and implementing instructional practices for Deaf/HH learners.
• Lead and participate in professional development activities for adult learners.
• Develop program-specific resources to support instruction and programming.
• Engage in planning, needs assessments, and service delivery improvements.
