Job summary

AWS Regional Safety Manager position responsible for owning the health and safety function across a multi-cluster data center portfolio. You will lead a team of Health and Safety Managers, set safety strategy, and align with senior operations partners to meet long-term business goals.

You will collaborate with security, construction, operations, logistics, and legal teams to advance safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance, including OSHA standards.

• Experience managing direct reports.
• Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own the safety strategy and lifecycle of complex cross-functional safety programs across a multi-cluster ADC portfolio.
• Manage and develop a team of Health & Safety Managers across multiple sites and geographies.
• Implement and ensure compliance with health and safety standards, policies, and practices that meet or exceed regulatory requirements, including safety management systems, training, and risk assessments.
• Own regional MBR and QBR narratives; analyze safety metrics and trends across the portfolio, deep-dive performance gaps, and design strategic responses.
• Conduct cadenced reviews of investigation quality; ensure narratives meet IRB standards before closure and own escalation decisions for high-severity events.
• Partner with construction managers to ensure risks are identified and mitigated prior to live operations as new capacity comes online.
• Influence senior operations Directors and cross-functional partners across Facilities, Construction, Security, and Legal to drive controls adoption at scale.
• Anticipate future growth and investment needs across clusters and build workforce and succession strategy to match a rapidly scaling portfolio.
• Consult and partner with the AWS compliance and legal teams for regulatory interpretations and guidance.
