Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Regional Chief Engineer to oversee the day-to-day MEP operations in the Sparks, NV data center, ensuring 99.999% availability and safe, efficient facility performance.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage medium-to-large projects, perform root cause analyses, and implement standard practices while collaborating with on-site technicians, facility managers, and vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities management experience.
• 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, to include HVSS.
• Operate independently with limited direct management.
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the region.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teams.
• Provide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and FMs.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Work cross-functionally across teams to effect cluster-wide performance improvement with our internal and external partners by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that enhance the end to end employee experience.
• Collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and obtain commitment to timelines and deliverables.
