Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Regional Design Manager to join its global engineering leadership team.

You will guide design direction and delivery for data centers across the Americas, collaborating with Architects, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Security engineers, with global standards in mind. The role emphasizes close connection to project details, process development, and driving outcomes that balance performance, cost, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil/gas facilities.
• Experience in project management or management consulting with multiple ongoing projects.
• Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or architecture field.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver data center designs across Americas on schedule and within budget.
• Influence internal stakeholders and external consultants to address program-wide design changes.
• Manage escalations from the design team and coordinate with procurement and construction partners.
• Communicate effectively with AWS leadership and project partners; track schedule, cost, and quality metrics.
• Identify innovative design solutions to reduce change orders without compromising quality.
• Drive speed, quality, and standardization through process improvements and automation.
• Create and share global best-practice design documentation across regions.
• Motivate teams to maintain impeccable quality in high-growth, deadline-driven environments.
• Travel for site assessments, design reviews, and interfacing with consultants; up to 25% travel.
