Job summary

Busey is seeking a Regional Credit Officer to oversee commercial underwriting and portfolio management across designated markets. You will lead a team of Commercial Credit Officers, Underwriters, and Analysts, ensuring timely underwriting and strong borrower relationships while monitoring risk.

This role requires deep credit expertise, strong communication, and the ability to make decisions under time pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance with a finance focus.
• 10+ years of Commercial Credit experience with approval authority.
• Experience managing mid-market loan relationships in the $10–$100M range.

Responsibilities

• Manage Commercial Credit Officers, Underwriters and Analysts; hire, train and mentor.
• Ensure timely underwriting through regular team communication and leadership.
• Review loan proposals and financial covenants; support portfolio management and renewals.
• Assist Relationship Managers with structuring loan opportunities and covenants.
• Represent SME banking policy in decisions and coordinate with regional leadership.
