Job summary

Busey Bank seeks a Regional Credit Officer in Illinois to oversee commercial underwriting and portfolio management across designated markets. You will lead a team of Commercial Credit Officers, Underwriters and Analysts, driving timely underwriting and managing credit risk for middle-market relationships.

You will review loan grades, assist with structuring opportunities, and partner with Relationship Managers to execute key deals while ensuring compliance with policy and regulatory standards.

• Expert knowledge of Busey’s Commercial/Credit line.

Responsibilities

• Direct and develop a team of Commercial Credit Officers, Underwriters and Analysts.
• Ensure timely underwriting through regular team communication and alignment with leadership.
• Evaluate cash flow, liquidity, profitability, and leverage to assess credit risk.
• Review loan grades to ensure policy alignment and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with portfolio management, covenants, reviews and reporting.
• Support loan structuring and opportunity memos for new and existing relationships.
