Job summary

American Medical Administrators MGMT Company is seeking a Regional CPI Instructor to train SNF staff in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and safe intervention techniques, ensuring dignity and safety for residents and staff.

You will conduct initial and refresher CPI training, assess competency, and maintain records while collaborating with facility leadership to identify ongoing training needs. A healthcare background and CPI certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, behavioral health, or related healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of crisis prevention and verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct hands-on training and evaluate staff competency.
• Strong organizational skills and training documentation experience.
• Ability to travel between facilities within the region.
• Must obtain CPI Instructor certification within 30 days of starting date.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CPI training and certification for nursing, clinical, and facility staff.
• Provide initial and annual/refresher CPI training per requirements.
• Teach crisis prevention, verbal de-escalation, and safe intervention techniques.
• Demonstrate responses to aggressive or escalated resident behaviors.
• Emphasize least-restrictive, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches.
• Conduct hands-on training and evaluate staff competency in CPI techniques.
• Maintain accurate training, certification, and competency records.
• Partner with Nursing, Clinical, and Facility Leadership to identify training needs.
• Provide coaching and follow-up education after incidents.
• Ensure CPI practices align with policies, regulations, and CPI program.
• Promote a culture of safety, dignity, and respect for residents and staff.
