Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Regional Controller for Long Island, NY. The role is responsible for monthly close, forecast, budgets, and financial statements for assigned regions, with oversight of a small team.

You will collaborate with operations leadership to improve profitability and cost efficiency while ensuring internal controls and policy compliance. The ideal candidate has strong accounting experience, leadership ability, and expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in supervision.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication with operations and senior leadership.
• Advanced Excel skills; SAP or ERP systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the oversight of monthly P&L and balance sheet activity.
• Direct the review of general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee reconciliation and analysis of key ledgers.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
• Drive the preparation of financial reporting, forecasts, and budgets.
• Analyze financial performance across accounts and service lines.
• Partner with the RVP and operations leadership to drive profitability and efficiency.
• Assist in assessment of new business and retention proposals.
• Lead special projects aligned with regional priorities.
• Supervise 4–5 direct reports and develop accounting staff.
• Champion training and continuous improvement of staff.
