Job summary

Compass Group USA in Richmond, VA is seeking an Assistant Regional Controller to support monthly, quarterly and fiscal closes, and to prepare financial statements for designated divisions or subsidiaries.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with team members and management levels, ensuring accurate billings, GL reconciliation, and accurate P/L tracking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years corporate accounting experience in a retail industry.
• Experience in a POS, cash and credit card environment.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient knowledge of Excel required; Dynamics GP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute billings to clients
• Review of general ledger and balance sheet and resolve reconciliation issues
• Track and maintain monthly P/L and balance sheet activity
• Assist with review and reconciliation of credit card and cash transactions
• Assist in preparation of various State and Local sales tax returns
• Handle special projects as needed
