Job summary

Compass Group USA seeks a Regional Controller for Long Island, NY. The role oversees monthly close, forecast, and budgets for assigned regions and sub­sidiaries, building strong relationships with various management levels.

The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, advanced Excel skills, and SAP or similar ERP experience. This position leads a 4–5 person team and partners with RVPs to improve profitability and financial integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience with at least three years of supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with operations and senior leadership.
• Advanced Excel skills; SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly P&L and balance sheet activity, ensuring accuracy and policy adherence.
• Direct review of general ledger and balance sheet accounts; resolve reconciliation issues.
• Oversee reconciliation and analysis of key ledger accounts including cash, AR, and inventory.
• Drive preparation of financial reporting, forecasts, and budgets.
• Analyze performance across accounts and service lines; provide actionable insights to operations.
• Collaborate with RVP and operations leadership to drive profitability and cost efficiency.
• Support assessment of new business and retention proposals; enforce contractual obligations.
