Job summary

Skybound Service Partners, a national platform for roofing and building services, seeks an experienced accounting leader to run the accounting function across operating companies.

You will oversee month-end close, AP/AR, and project accounting, drive ERP implementation, and partner with Operations and leadership on budgeting and forecasting, while supporting growth through acquisitions. Location is Illinois-based with ~20–25% travel.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license a plus.
• Direct experience with enterprise-wide accounting software (Sage Intacct or Oracle NetSuite).
• Strong background in AP, AR, and accrual-based accounting; POC accounting preferred.
• Experience budgeting and financial planning processes.
• Experience implementing or enhancing accounting systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Must reside in East or Central time zone.
• Travel approximately 20-25%.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting function for assigned operating companies and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Oversee AP and AR processing for accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Manage project accounting including WIP, POC, revenue recognition, and job cost analysis.
• Analyze monthly results and partner with Operations leadership to improve profitability and forecast accuracy.
• Support cash forecasting, fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, and other corporate activities.
