Job summary

CFS in Chicago is seeking a seasoned Controller to own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, deliver accurate financial reporting, and partner with leadership on budgeting and forecasting.

You will lead inventory accounting, oversee A/R, remittance reconciliations, and cash application, manage ERP systems (NetSuite) and drive process improvements while mentoring the accounting team in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Ownership of full month-end close process.
• Strong inventory accounting, ERP experience (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Oversee wholesale accounts receivable, retailer deductions, remittance reconciliations, and cash application processes.
• Manage accounts payable operations, vendor relationships, and payment processes across domestic and international suppliers.
• Lead inventory accounting, COGS reporting, inventory reconciliations, and gross margin analysis.
• Serve as the accounting lead for ERP systems, reporting enhancements, and process improvements.
• Manage accounting staff and support audits, budgeting, forecasting, and cross-functional financial initiatives.
