Job summary

Targus in Anaheim, California, is seeking a Regional Controller- Americas. This hybrid role oversees accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and SOX compliance for the US, Canada, and Australia entities.

As a strategic finance leader, you will partner with regional business leaders and corporate finance to maintain financial integrity, improve processes, and support growth initiatives. Lead GL close, budgeting, forecasting, and external audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field.
• 7+ years as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role.
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing accounting teams.
• CPA or CMA certification.
• Public company experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
• ERP systems such as D365, NetSuite, and Baan.
• Advanced Excel and BI reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a robust internal control environment.
• Ensure SOX compliance and company control frameworks.
• Partner with Internal Audit on testing and improvements.
• Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen controls.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per GAAP.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for senior management.
• Communicate trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee accounting operations including reconciliations, AR/AP, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Coordinate with external auditors for compliance.
• Guide complex transactions and evaluate financial impact of initiatives.
• Lead monthly close process and support growth initiatives.
