Job summary

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Prior leadership experience.
• Strong construction accounting experience (Project Accounting, WIP reporting, Job costing).

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities for a region.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Oversee WIP reporting, revenue recognition, project cost tracking, and margin analysis.
• Develop and maintain forecasts, budgets, and financial models for regional operations.
• Partner with construction and operational leaders to drive financial performance and support decision-making.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including oversight of payroll-related activities.
• Analyze financial results and communicate key trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Support audits, compliance requirements, and corporate reporting initiatives.
• Assist with system and process optimization within the accounting and project management environment.

LHH has partnered with our client, a construction and infrastructure services industry, that is seeking a Regional Controller to oversee financial operations across multiple business units. This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to influence financial strategy, improve processes, and partner closely with operational leadership on large-scale construction projects.

The organization is undergoing significant growth and transformation, creating an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance leader to help stabilize and enhance the accounting and financial reporting function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities for a region.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Oversee WIP reporting, revenue recognition, project cost tracking, and margin analysis.
• Develop and maintain forecasts, budgets, and financial models for regional operations.

Compensation:

$175,000-$185,000

• Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision
• PTO is offered on an accrual basis
