Job summary

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of construction project management processes.
• Experience managing and supervising numerous design and construction projects, analyze technical problems and recommend corrective engineering solutions.
• Experience communicating effectively with all management and support levels, other professionals, employees and external contractors.
• Experience managing project budgets through all phases to ensure expenditures and encumbrances do not exceed available funds.
• VCCO certification.
• Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of multiple design and construction projects.
• Knowledge and experience with the codes, laws and regulations governing construction and contractor procurement for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Support coordination with outside agencies such as State Fire Marshal, Division of Engineering and Building, Department of Historic Resources, Department of Environmental Quality, utility providers and other local, state and Federal agencies as required and unsure projects are in regulatory and statutory compliance.
• Experience with Division of Engineering and Buildings (DEB).
• Experience with the Construction and Professional Services Manual.
• Experience in public procurement and administrative processes.
• Professional Engineering or Architecture license.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects up to $5 million through design, construction and close out processes as owners’ representative.
• Manage schedule, scope and budget; ensure QA, safety and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate administrative and logistic support for each assigned project.
• Serve as subject matter expert to other project managers across the State of Virginia.
