Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to lead InCommunities initiatives for the AWS Data Center Community. This role will be based in the Fredericksburg region and support the Rappahannock River Region with strategic planning and community relations.

The ideal candidate will oversee external communications, engage with partner organizations, and drive long-term programs that deliver lasting impact while representing AWS infrastructure publicly.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional or military experience.
• 10+ years professional experience in External Affairs, Public Policy, Communications, Community Engagement or related field.
• Previous experience supporting major infrastructure development projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy development and execute bespoke community engagement plans for major development projects across the region.
• Design and execute signature events and programs with a vision for sustainable community engagement initiatives.
• Own internal and external communications for community engagement programs with multiple channels.
• Act as the point of contact for community-centric issues and reputational risk mitigation.
• Lead community assessments for new sites in the region and scale programs as the business grows.
• Capture and report data demonstrating impact on AWS Infrastructure, employees, and community.
