Job summary

Ducks Unlimited is seeking a Regional Communications Coordinator to support the Great Plains Region (ND, SD, MT, CO, NE, KS, WY) by delivering high‑quality communications for multiple stakeholders, including biologists, engineers and development directors.

You will develop press releases, magazine articles, project sheets and story maps, travel to field sites for storytelling, track priorities and provide weekly leadership updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a communications role.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills (must present examples).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across a large geographic region.
• Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
• Photography experience (must present examples).
• Section 107 drone licenses (or willingness to attain one) preferred.
• Willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver press releases, DU Magazine articles, project information sheets, story maps, PowerPoint presentations, speeches, newsletters and other materials for teams across 7 states.
• Track and prioritize tasks with a detailed, ranked project list to demonstrate workload and impact.
• Travel to project sites regularly to capture storytelling across the Prairie Pothole region.
• Provide regular updates to the GPR leadership team and distribute weekly communications reports to all staff.
• Anticipate challenges and keep the supervisor informed about complex projects or difficult stakeholders.
