Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Regional Collections Associate to manage a regional portfolio and drive payment recovery. You will communicate with customers to secure payments, reduce days sales outstanding, and protect the company’s financial interests.

You will collaborate with Operations Leadership, Rental Leadership, and the Sales Team to resolve billing disputes, monitor receivables, and participate in leadership meetings to align on collection strategies.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred in business, accounting, financial or related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in business, accounting, financial or related field.
• One year or more in commercial collections required.
• Two or more years in accounting/financial with H.S. Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Contacts customers to solicit payment, negotiate cessation of services, obtain information on deductions and billing issues, remediate terms, and determine contract defaults.
• Analyze disputes and deductions to resolve amounts due (rates, days, miles, damages, fees, taxes, etc.) and identify root causes.
• Provide regular updates to Finance, Operations, Sales, and Rental leadership on receivables and bad debt forecasting.
• Participate in projects or committees related to Collections, Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, and Billing.
• Develop documentation and user manuals as directed.
• Work with customers and management to mitigate losses and improve receivables metrics.
• Analyze financial/credit/operational data to plan and execute collections strategies.
• Perform other duties as assigned
