Job summary

HHM Hotels is seeking an Area Chief Engineer in Williamsburg, Virginia to lead maintenance functions and engineering staff across multiple hotels. You will ensure structures meet HHM standards, support guest satisfaction, and uphold sustainability guidelines, while coordinating with third-party vendors and managing in-house projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or trade school course work in related field preferred.
• Previous engineer/maintenance experience in a hotel setting strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with brand or hotel standards and HHM values.
• Manage and coordinate bids, quotes and contracts for 3rd party vendors.
• Manage in-house maintenance projects, or PIPS.
• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Install or repair sheet rock and other wall coverings.
• Paint designated areas and items.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures.
• Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
• Install, replace and program televisions.
• Perform minor plumbing functions.
• Replace and repair heating and cooling pumps and perform preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain PM records and units.
• Maintain exterior grounds and curb appeal of hotels.
• Refurbish, paint and finish furniture and fixtures.
• Test and maintain life safety systems for 100% operation.
• Maintain maintenance records and ensure service contracts comply.
• Perform work in accordance with local, state, and Federal codes.
• Support guest satisfaction goals and sustainability initiatives.
