Job summary

The Department of Veterans Services in Virginia is seeking a Regional Coordinator to lead the VVFS team in Blacksburg and coordinate care for service members, veterans, and families. The role focuses on triage, resource development, and regional training to improve supportive services across the region.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of military services, culture, and veteran experience.
• Knowledge of suicide interventions and mandatory reporting requirements.
• Clear written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in public speaking and delivering trainings.
• Ability to engage SMVF population, develop relationships, and advocate for services.
• Ability to coach, motivate and lead teams in high-volume work.
• Knowledge of human services, behavioral health, and veteran support systems.
• Ability to collaborate with federal, state and local officials.

Responsibilities

• Serve as region team lead and support care coordination consultation, regional case triage, and resource development.
• Lead regional training related to resource development and best practices for supportive services.
• Identify SMVF service needs and connect clients with appropriate providers; monitor outcomes.
• Develop coordinated services plans and monitor for successful resolution of identified needs.
