About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing global leader in the heavy equipment and construction machinery industry is seeking an accomplished Regional Business Manager to lead sales growth, dealer development, and market expansion within an assigned U.S. territory.

This is a highly visible commercial leadership opportunity for an experienced heavy-equipment professional who understands how to grow a territory through strong dealer partnerships, strategic customer relationships, disciplined sales execution, and market development.

The Regional Business Manager will take ownership of regional performance and serve as a critical link between the organization, its dealer network, and customers. The successful candidate will be expected to identify growth opportunities, strengthen dealer performance, increase equipment sales, expand market share, and develop long-term relationships throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional business strategy to achieve revenue, market-share, and profitability objectives.
  • Drive sales of heavy and construction equipment throughout the assigned territory.
  • Develop, strengthen, and expand relationships with equipment dealers, distributors, and strategic customers.
  • Identify underdeveloped markets and establish plans to increase brand presence and market penetration.
  • Recruit and develop new dealer partners where additional market coverage is required.
  • Partner with existing dealers to establish annual sales objectives, inventory strategies, forecasts, and business-development plans.
  • Conduct regular dealer business reviews and develop action plans to improve performance.
  • Support dealers with major customer opportunities, competitive situations, demonstrations, and complex equipment transactions.
  • Develop relationships with contractors, fleet operators, rental companies, municipalities, infrastructure organizations, and other key equipment customers.
  • Identify and pursue major regional and strategic account opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts regarding equipment demand and future business.
  • Monitor regional market conditions, competitive activity, pricing, customer requirements, and industry trends.
  • Work closely with product management, marketing, finance, parts, service, and technical support teams to ensure dealers and customers receive exceptional support.
  • Represent the organization at dealer meetings, customer events, industry conferences, trade shows, and equipment demonstrations.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to leadership and product teams to support future product and commercial strategies.
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory to maintain strong dealer and customer engagement.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, results-driven sales professional with extensive knowledge of the heavy-equipment industry and a demonstrated ability to build territories, develop dealer networks, and grow revenue.

Successful candidates will ideally bring:

  • 7+ years of progressive sales, business development, territory management, dealer development, or regional management experience.
  • Strong experience within heavy equipment, construction equipment, earthmoving equipment, equipment rental, agricultural equipment, material handling, or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding regional sales and revenue objectives.
  • Experience managing and developing equipment dealer or distributor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of dealer operations, inventory management, forecasting, retail sales, and market development.
  • Experience developing new markets and increasing market share within competitive territories.
  • Established relationships within the construction equipment industry are highly desirable.
  • Ability to identify, develop, negotiate, and close significant equipment opportunities.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region.
