Job summary

YAI in New York seeks a Regional Behavioral Intervention Director to supervise BIS staff and provide clinical leadership across multiple sites. You will oversee assessments, behavior support plans, staff training, and data documentation, ensuring compliance with OPWDD standards.

The role requires advanced degrees or BCBA, NY license, 3+ years of related experience, travel across the region, and ability to obtain SCIP-R/ CPR.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or BCBA with related master’s degree and training in assessment techniques.
• Three years’ experience with developmental disabilities and behavior support plans.
• Current NYS licensure/certification as required (e.g., MHC) and BIS School completion.
• Ability to travel regularly and flexible schedule.
• Certification in SCIP-R or CPR within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day supervision of BISs in an assigned region and conducts performance evaluations.
• Performs clinical duties of OPWDD BIS 2, including assessments and behavior support plan development.
• Directs BIS staff in FBAs and updates behavior support plans with coaching.
• Participates in hiring, staffing, and coverage decisions.
• Manages timekeeping in Workday for payroll; resolves attendance issues.
• Travels to programs regionally to conduct assessments and trainings.
• Provides clinical leadership and supports regional leadership; attends leadership meetings.
• Plans and facilitates regional direct care leadership meetings and clinical trainings.
• Keeps current with new interventions through research and trainings.
• Supervises student interns and staff development; may provide clinical supervision for NYS licensure.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
