Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Operations Engineer to lead the lifecycle of cross-functional automation projects within the North America fulfillment network. You will design, build, and improve high-speed sortation, conveyors, and robotic work cells across sites with strong vendor collaboration and rigorous schedule management.

The role emphasizes project execution, risk management, and continuous improvement, with up to 75% travel and relocation flexibility to corporate locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyors.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, CREO, BIM360, SketchUp or KeyShot.
• Travel up to 75% (nationwide).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, improve, and innovate order fulfillment infrastructure across the network.
• Manage, design, and implement medium scope integrated automation projects with conveyors and sortation.
• Coordinate on-site vendor activities and escalate issues with leadership.
• Develop budgets, contracts, and change controls for projects.
• Lead commissioning and testing activities and ensure safety compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on equipment specs and layout.
• Provide training and hand-over to site operations and ensure documentation.
