Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Regional Automation Engineer Manager to lead onsite and regional automation engineers across fulfillment centers. You will drive equipment reliability, mentor junior engineers, and guide continuous improvement on PLC and SCADA platforms.

You will work with conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices, delivering speed and accuracy for customer orders while building team capability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 7+ years PLC/automation experience
• 7+ years industrial controls & automation
• 7+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis
• 7+ years robotics work cells and control systems
• 7+ years Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys Ladder Logic
• 7+ years electrical theory and automated equipment experience

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and lead regional automation engineers to reduce downtime of critical assets
• Program and source code for in-house PLC/PC controllers and SCADA/OEE platforms
• Lead team in maintaining and troubleshooting MHE control systems and industrial networks
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze system performance with maintenance/operations
• Provide regional escalation support during and after hours
• Perform and analyze building system assessments to improve performance
• Establish training plans and mentor automation engineers
• Communicate timelines to managers and maintenance teams
• Escalate downtime to vendors or senior leadership as needed
• Provide 24/7 on-call support across multiple sites
• Travel up to 80%
