Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Regional Automation Engineer in Kent, WA to own high-level support for control systems across a region of sites. You will engage in field commissioning, on-call support, continuous improvement, and project management to ensure reliability and efficiency of robotics and material handling equipment.

Through data analytics and SME guidance, you will develop SOPs, performance metrics, and best practices, and you will help implement standard code and parameter sets across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 4+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
• 4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic programming.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.
• Travel up to 80% of the time.
• Currently hold's an active and unrestricted, or have the ability to obtain a pharmacy technician license in domicile state (WA)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot material handling control systems including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
• Provide SME guidance on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for a region of onsite automation engineers.
• Offer technical guidance and decision-making for collaboration projects with other Amazon teams.
• Provide escalation support during and after hours to ensure timely repair of hardware and controls software.
• Travel up to 80% to support sites within an assigned region.
