Job summary

Winebow is seeking a senior Accounts Receivable leader in Ashland, VA to manage and develop the regional AR team. You will ensure timely payments, accurate postings across ERP systems, and compliance with state requirements.

This role emphasizes cash application, credit management, and collections with significant interaction across Sales, Operations, and Compliance. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in AR leadership, deep ERP and Excel expertise, and strong GAAP/SOX knowledge to minimize

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounts receivable or related supervisory experience required.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Business Central, Apprise) required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and XLOOKUPs required.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills to manage difficult collection calls.
• Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy.
• Understanding of GAAP, SOX, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, schedule, and develop the regional AR team; set workload priorities and coach performance.
• Ensure customer payments post accurately and timely across AR platform and ERP; verify configurations and routing.
• Execute daily deposit tie-out with audit-ready checklists; investigate variances.
• Manage regional ledgers across ERP environments; apply cash to correct entities and invoices.
• Enforce state requirements in electronic markets; coordinate with Compliance on licensing-receivable requirements.
• Administer credit-hold SOP; evaluate creditworthiness and set limits using financial data.
• Run prioritized collection activity; partner with sales leadership to minimize write-offs; escalate when needed.
• Investigate and resolve short payments, deductions, and billing disputes; maintain audit trails.
• Route payment-redirects and garnishments to management per SOP; do not self-execute.
• Support AR subledger reconciliation to GL; assist reserves and bad-debt review.
• Advance automation and control coverage; implement changes to improve accuracy.
