Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for the North Texas Region, based in Fort Worth. The APM will assist project managers on varied projects, coordinate with clients, subcontractors and vendors, and maintain document control and project schedules.

The candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and at least 5 years of experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills. PMP/PgMP is a plus; travel ~50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or related degree from accredited program and 5 years of applicable experience required.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• PMP, PgMP, or related certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding work environment; ability to work overtime on short notice.
• Travel to the project location may be required; travel ~50% of time.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Management Teams plan, execute and monitor projects through all stages.
• Manage Contractors' submittals, RFIs, design instructions, and site drawing logs.
• Verify Contractor compliance including quality, safety, environmental, and material management programs.
• Execute contracts including change order management, invoice approvals, and schedule management.
• Assist with project controls: cost reporting, scheduling, WBS, project setup and closeout.
• Assist with development of internal and external reports including budgeting, cash flow forecast, and status reports to stakeholders.
• Close out contract and project documentation.
