Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Transportation is seeking an Access Land Use Coordinator (Transportation Specialist Advanced) for the North Central Region. Primary duties include independently researching and applying state rules, local codes, and statutes to access management and land use across the region.

The role leads Access Management Coordinators, engages with public and private partners, and coordinates with the Region Access Engineer.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting property descriptions, certified surveys, and plats.
• Engineering principles as they pertain to highway safety and access management.
• Experience with land use reviews such as subdivisions, annexation, or new developments; analyzing data related to access on state/local roadways.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Region's access land use program and respond to inquiries about existing rights of way and access.
• Provide high level expertise in access controls and guide staff in preparation and management of access control records.
• Review complex land records and subdivision plats; coordinate with the Region Access Engineer and Right of Way Plat Coordinator; conduct field inspections.
