Wisconsin DOT is seeking an Access Land Use Coordinator (Transportation Specialist Advanced) to lead the region's access land use program, interpret state rules and local ordinances, and coordinate with the Region Access Engineer and Right of Way Plat Coordinator.

The role requires reviewing complex land records, subdivision plats for state highway access, and providing high-level guidance to staff. Occasional travel and a 12-month probation are included.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting property legal descriptions, certified survey maps, and/or plats.
• Engineering principles as they pertain to highway safety and/or access management.
• Experience with land use reviews such as subdivisions, annexation, or new developments; traffic counts; analyzing access data; interpreting transportation plans.

Responsabilités

• Lead the region's access land use program and coordinate with the Region Access Engineer and Right of Way Plat Coordinator.
• Review subdivision plats for access additions or modifications on the State Highway System.
• Provide guidance to staff on access controls and manage access records.
• Interact with local, regional government program managers, private developers, consulting engineers, surveyors, and the public.
• Perform independent historical research and make recommendations.
