Job summary

WisDOT in Wisconsin Rapids or Rhinelander seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor (Civil Engineer Transportation Supervisor) to lead engineering programs in the North Central Region. This is a full-time, hybrid role headquartered in one of the regional offices, with 2 days on-site and telework within Wisconsin.

The position emphasizes supervision of professional staff, policy application, and coordination across staff and partners to meet project requirements and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Valid Professional Engineer registration; obtain Wisconsin PE within 3 months if PE from another state.
• Experience in transportation program or project management.
• Ability to travel independently to supervise staff.
• Experience with PS&E, HMM, MUTCD guidance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise roadway maintenance activities performed by staff in the state highway system.
• Coordinate staff and resources to meet program objectives.
• Provide training and developmental opportunities to staff; apply policy.
• Perform professional engineering work and analyze engineering reports and plans.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, consultants, and contractors.
