Title: Region Sales Manager – West

Workstyle: Remote

Locations: Preferred locations: Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; or Phoenix, AZ

Role Overview:

The West Region Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales growth for Mars Food by executing strategic plans aligned with key objectives such as revenue, profit, product assortment, placement, merchandising, pricing, and promotions. This role involves maintaining strong customer relationships to ensure successful strategy execution.

Currently managing three sales channels with a brokered sales force, overseeing West Coast and Intermountain grocery accounts, as well as Military and Natural & Specialty channels. Will work directly with key distributors to optimize business performance, focusing on strategic execution and market growth across all channels.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage broker relationships for grocery retail and wholesale, ensuring accountability for HQ calls, customer penetration, trade budgets, and coordination with retail teams.
  2. Sell Mars Food portfolio alongside brokers, maximize sales and profit, and deliver Net Sales Growth objectives.
  3. Manage customer P&L, negotiate trade deals, and oversee trade budgets, rates, and promotional contracts.
  4. Develop and execute Joint Business Plans, including annual collaborative planning with key customers.
  5. Forecast sales leveraging tools and relationships, coordinating with the Customer Supply Chain Team.
  6. Foster strong customer relationships for long-term growth.
  7. Align with Grocery Channel objectives, goals, and strategies.
  8. Collaborate with internal and external partners to pursue opportunities and achieve goals, including working with retail organizations and brokers.
  9. Coordinate and attend trade shows, conduct regular customer and broker meetings, and oversee financial management related to trade planning and budgets.
  10. Support and collaborate with the Mars Food sales team and internal departments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of consumer packaged goods retail sales experience
  • Minimum 2 years of major account sales management experience
  • Proficiency in retail analytics (Nielsen, IRI, customer data)
  • Category Management and Customer/Trade Marketing experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to travel at least 50%
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Successful drug and background screening

Salary Range: USD 117,804.00 - USD 161,985.00
