First Student in the United States seeks a Charter Sales Executive to grow charter revenue by delivering transportation solutions to public and private sectors, regionally or nationwide. You will identify opportunities, build senior-level relationships, and lead proposals through to booking, with 25% travel.

Your role requires a proven sales record, ability to navigate multi-step deals, and strength in presenting to C-level stakeholders within the transportation industry.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of sales experience.
  • Expert in complex, multi-stage sales processes.
  • Ability to sell to C-level executives.
  • Transportation industry experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting revenue targets.

Responsibilities

  • Grow charter sales to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Prospect and develop new business; move inquiries to bookings.
  • Maintain relationships with Charter Center peers and Ops personnel.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers to grow and retain accounts.
  • Navigate complex sales channels and move processes forward.
  • Prepare and lead presentations, proposals, and bid processes.
  • Gather market intel; stay abreast of transportation market changes.
  • Become a transportation industry expert and initiate growth strategies.
  • Promote the company by attending trade shows and events.
  • Focus on large volume regional accounts > $15,000.
  • Travel 25% of the time.

Job description

Grow Outside Charter Revenue by introducing charter transportation solutions to both public and private sectors, targeted channels and large activities. Find/identify opportunities with companies that require for-hire transportation services regionally or across the U.S. Maintain on-going relationships with existing customer base to influence retention and on-going growth in these accounts.

Major Responsibilities

  • Grow charter sales to meet and or exceed annual/quarterly/monthly established Charter Revenue Goals, Targets & Objectives
  • Prospects and develops new business. Generates inquiries & works them through to booking.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with their Charter Center peers and key Operations personnel (LM/AGM/RVP/SVP)
  • Builds, manages and maintains relationships with key prospect/customer decision-makers and influencers to ensure new growth and retention of existing accounts & customers.
  • Navigates complex sales channels while continually moving the sales process forward during sometimes lengthy sales processes.
  • Prepares and leads presentations, proposals, and bid processes to strategically win new business.
  • Gathers market, prospect, and customer intelligence. Stays abreast of changes in the transportation market which could open business opportunities.
  • Works to become a transportation industry expert that will lead to Initiating strategies utilizing our core strengths in untapped markets.
  • Is visible in the transportation industry by attending, networking, and fully participating in trade shows, exhibits, and other opportunities to promote the company as the transportation solution.
  • Focusing on large volume regional accounts > $15,000 in transactions.
  • Travel 25% of the time.

Minimum Experience or Skills Required

  • 5 years’ sales experience
  • Superior knowledge of sophisticated sales techniques and methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage a protracted and complicated sales process
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills with ability to sell to “C-level” executives
  • Ability to win sale without being lowest priced solution
  • Track record of success
  • Experience in the transportation industry (transit, cargo, express, package, waste disposal, armored car, etc.) preferred

Compensation ranges from $65,000 - $85,000 (plus commission) depending on experience.
