Job summary

Advatix seeks a dedicated Child Care Teacher in Richmond, VA to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children from six weeks to six years old. You will collaborate with staff to develop engaging lesson plans, support development across domains, and communicate with families.

Required: CDA certificate, a two-year degree in ECE or related field, and at least two years of childcare experience. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 7.5 hours daily, $18–$22 per hour, direct hire.

Qualifications

• Two years of formal childcare experience.
• CDA Certificate required by the hiring manager.
• Two-year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 40 hours of coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Ability to communicate clearly with children and families.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to perform physical activities related to childcare.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment for ages six weeks to six years.
• Support cognitive, social, emotional, language, and motor development.
• Apply Reggio-inspired concepts in classroom settings.
• Communicate children's progress to families and document milestones.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers in the classroom.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and health procedures in the room.
• Collaborate with staff and participate in meetings and trainings.
