Job summary

Trident Consulting is seeking an experienced Child Care Teacher in Richmond, VA. The position supports children from six weeks to six years, following the Reggio education approach.

Three openings are available with a pay rate of $18–$22 per hour on W-2, across a Monday–Friday schedule within 6:00 AM–8:00 PM shifts. The role requires 2 years of childcare experience, a two-year ECE degree (or equivalent), and coursework in early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Two year degree in early childhood education, child psychology, psychology or closely related field.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 40 hours of coursework in early childhood education or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: CDA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement lesson plans for assigned classroom.
• Document children’s daily progress and prepare reports to parents.
• Ensure classroom is clean, safe, and free of health hazards.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers in the classroom.
• Support program goals that promote autonomy and family involvement.
• Demonstrate Reggio approach in indoor and outdoor classrooms.
• Follow licensing and accrediting body requirements.
• Support cognitive, social, and motor development through planned activities.
• Promote language, motor skills and independence in children.
• Maintain records and collaborate with staff and families.
