Job summary

HRforGrowth is partnering with a Richmond-based childcare provider to fill a full-time Child Care Teacher role serving ages six weeks through six years. The position requires a CDA certificate, a two-year degree in early childhood education or related field, and at least two years of formal childcare experience.

You will create a Reggio-inspired, nurturing classroom and collaborate with families to support development.

Qualifications

• Two years of formal childcare experience.
• CDA Certificate (required by hiring manager).
• Two-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, Psychology, or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 40 hours of coursework in ECE or related field.
• Ability to develop age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Effective communication with children, families, and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and interact with children, families, and staff.
• Ability to work in a noisy childcare environment.
• Ability to perform physical activities related to childcare.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement creative, adaptive lesson plans for the classroom.
• Create and maintain a safe, engaging, nurturing environment for children aged six weeks to six years.
• Support cognitive, social, emotional, language, and motor development.
• Apply Reggio-inspired concepts in indoor/outdoor settings.
• Document daily progress and milestones for each child.
• Communicate needs and progress to families and team members.
• Supervise aides and volunteers as assigned.
• Collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure compliance and high-quality care.
