Job summary

The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, Department of Oral Biology, seeks a Research Technician II to join Dr. Camila Sabatini's team.

Qualifications

  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and sterile technique.
  • Ability to manage multiple detail-oriented tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Develop and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments.
  • Experience with histology, imaging, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience with animal work is a strong plus.
  • Excellent organizational and collaborative skills; eager to learn.
  • Prior experience with DNA/RNA extraction and PCR.

Responsibilities

  • Mammalian cell culture.
  • DNA/RNA extraction and PCR.
  • Protein detection/quantification and cell signaling studies (immunofluorescence, western blotting, ELISA, plasmid recombination).
  • Mice and Ferret: colony maintenance, breeding and genotyping, and sample harvesting.
  • Histology (sample preparation).
  • Microscopy imaging (brightfield, confocal, TEM).
  • Flow cytometry: multi-channel FACS analysis and immune profiling.
  • Administrative duties (notes, purchase orders, inventory, protocol submissions, documentation, lab organization).
  • Training and supervision of new technicians and students.
  • Requires experience with GraphPad Prism.
