Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates daily branch operations with branch subordinates and divisional management.
• Monitors branch operations via invoices, petty cash, timecards, inventory, and performance metrics.
• Analyzes monthly receivables and directs an effective collections system.
• Analyzes P&L and financial statements to identify risks and opportunities with action plans.
• Collaborates with division management and corporate on sales, credit, accounting, service and parts matters.
• Establishes monthly meeting dates for collaborative earnings analysis and accountability.
• Ensures adherence to CMD SOPs and operational processes.
• Promotes vendor and customer on-site visits to support relationships and sales.
• Supports non-OEM sales strategies and growth initiatives for parts and service.
• Assists GM of Operations in developing gross profit and expense targets; travels to branches as needed.

Scope of Work

As a Waukesha-Pearce Industries (WPI) Regional Business Manager (RBM), you are responsible for monitoring your assigned CMD branch(s) daily operations. The service and parts managers along with related administrative sales and support roles at the assigned branches will report directly to this position. Daily branch responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the operations of assigned salesmen, parts and related processes, and the service department operations including work in process, talent acquisition and overall territory growth. Compliance with and enforcement of all company policies and safety regulations is a must. The RBM will work directly with various departments to ensure a high level of customer support while executing on all tasks efficiently with the objective of producing optimum efficiency and profitability.

Job Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates daily branch operations by working closely with branch subordinates and divisional management to assure company personnel practices and policies are followed.
• Monitors all branch operations by periodic checks of WPI and vendor invoices, petty cash, timecards, no-charge billings, price sheet dates, inventory controls, work in process, housekeeping and any other management activities needed to measure the effectiveness of the branch operations.
• Analyzes monthly receivable accounts and organizes and directs an effective collections system.
• Analyze P&L and financial statements to determine risks and identify opportunities for improvement with specific measurable action plans.
• Work closely with division management and the corporate office on matters relating to sales, problems involving credit, accounting, service and or parts.
• Establishes monthly meeting dates whereby all subordinates participate in a constructive analysis of the monthly statement of earnings.
• Ensures that established systems and CMD Standard Operation Procedures (SOP's) for monitoring individual departmental productivity and personnel utilization are followed.
• Promote good relations through periodic vendor and customer on-site visits.
• Support non-OEM sales strategies and related parts & service department growth initiatives.
• Assists GM of Operations in the development of gross profit and departmental expense goals on a monthly basis.
• Travel to branch locations on an ongoing basis to support operational excellence.

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Extensive knowledge and background in construction equipment.
• Ability to understand the terminology used in the construction equipment industry.
• Ability to utilize current technology to efficiently and effectively manage your time.
• Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent constant communication.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word) to facilitate operations. Ability to adhere to all published CMD standard operating processes.
• Strong ability to engage, mentor, and influence direct reports and team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts, listen and appropriately give responsive feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

• Preferred bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires 5+ years' of hands-on construction machinery business experience.

• Ability to data mine via ERP queries, monitor and take action on dashboard outputs.
• Must have ability to travel between assigned branches on a regular basis. Time should be equally split between assigned branches.
