Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a Helper to assist the refuse truck driver on pre-assigned routes to collect garbage, yard waste and recycling. You will perform loading, lifting and backing up the truck under supervision, following safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include loading waste, handling carts, directing the driver during backing up, maintaining cleanliness and reporting issues. This role requires physical stamina and teamwork on long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Picks up solid waste and places it in the back of a rear load garbage truck on specified routes.
• Lifts and carries trash bags, bulk items and containers to the truck for disposal.
• Operates packing mechanism to compact waste into the truck.
• Provides courteous customer service and supports municipal goals.
• Backs up the truck safely with driver direction from the ground.
• Cleans behind the compactor blade and maintains hopper cleanliness.
