Refugee Resettlement assists in helping create a home-away-from-home, we assist government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification and resettlement.
The Case Aide will be supporting the activities and objectives of the Refugee Resettlement program. Working closely with Case Managers and other program staff, the Case Aide assists in ensuring the successful integration and self-sufficiency of refugees within the local community. This position involves a combination of administrative tasks, client support, and cultural sensitivity. The Case Aide is required to maintain a flexible, organized, and efficient work schedule and support the delivery of quality services to clients.
Principal Duties
- Assist clients with basic needs such as transportation, orientation, and accessing community resources. Serve as a liaison between clients and Case Managers, conveying important information and addressing client concerns. Provide translation and interpretation services as needed to facilitate communication between program staff or external service providers. Offer emotional support and encouragement to refugees as they navigate the challenges of resettlement.
- Assist to maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including case notes, progress reports, and required documentation for program compliance. Ensure that clients are properly enrolled in both the program’s internal and funder-provided database. Ensure that case files are opened and all documentation in the case file is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Assist in preparing and submitting reports to funding agencies or other stakeholders. Help clients on completing necessary forms and applications related to housing, employment, healthcare, and benefits.
- Participate in the development and delivery of cultural orientation sessions for clients, promoting understanding of local customs, laws, and resources. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for clients by demonstrating cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Coordinate logistics for client appointments, workshops, and events. Assist in coordinating transportation for clients to attend appointments, language classes, job interviews, and other essential activities. Provide orientations to clients on-site at locations such as banks, credit unions, apartments, and grocery stores to teach them how to carry out day-to-day functions such as depositing checks, withdrawing cash, opening accounts, using benefits cards, paying rent, paying utility bills, etc.
- Support Case Managers with administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and maintaining program materials. Perform other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year experience in an administrative setting
- Valid Texas Driver’s License

- Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and database software). This position may involve working in an office setting as well as in the field, including visits to clients' homes or accompanying them to appointments.
