Job summary

Ascentria Care Alliance in Worcester, MA is seeking a Resettlement Navigator - Employment to support the Services for New Americans program. The Employment Counselor helps refugees access employment and develop plans toward self-sufficiency.

The role involves employer relations, job development, client assessments, resume coaching, and post-placement support to ensure successful workforce integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Two years’ experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance to transport clients.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, databases.
• Comfortable speaking with groups and collaborative teams.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural/multi-lingual environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with current employers.
• Research employment opportunities and network with potential employers.
• Coordinate with government agencies, business associations, faith communities and community members.
• Engage in outreach to establish new employer and/or community partnerships.
• Serve as the contact for businesses, employers, and service agencies.
• Promote the program through community networking, and developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
• Provide pre-employment orientation and budgeting sessions for newly arrived clients.
• Assess clients’ aptitudes, interests, work skills, work experience, education, and/or degree of limitations to identify opportunities and challenges to employment.
• Coach clients in developing job-search skills, resumes, and effective interview skills.
